01

Whimsical House

For my whimsical house project, I wanted to create something that looked like it came straight out of a fairy tale. I added wavy lines to the roof and made the windows and doors all different shapes, so it would look really unique and fun. Painting it was my favorite part because I used bright, bold colors that made the house pop. Working on this made me realize how much I like making things that look a little out of the ordinary but it did not work and I did not take a picture.

02

Tea pot

Making the teapot was definitely a challenge. I had to make sure the spout and handle were attached just right, or else they would fall off. It took a lot of patience to get the shape even, and I had to be careful not to let it dry out too much before attaching the pieces. In the end, I liked how it turned out, and it helped me understand how important it is to pay attention to details in ceramics but it did not work and I did not take a picture.

03

Interesting foot vessel

For the interesting foot vessel, I experimented with different ways to make the base stand out. I tried adding texture and shaping the feet so they looked like little animal paws. It was tricky to get them all the same size, but I think the unevenness actually made it look cooler. I learned that sometimes things don’t have to be perfect to be interesting but it did not work and I did not take a picture.

04

choice project

For my choice project, I decided to try making a dolphin sculpture out of clay. I was really excited because dolphins are my favorite animal, and I wanted to capture their smooth, curved shape. Building it was way harder than I thought, though. Every time I tried to attach the fins or shape the tail, the piece would crack or break apart. I kept fixing it, but the clay just wouldn’t cooperate and eventually it broke again before I could even get a picture. Even though it was frustrating, I learned a lot about how delicate clay can be, especially with skinny parts like fins. Next time, I’ll try out some new techniques and maybe make the shapes thicker so they don’t break as easily, but I did not get a picture of it.
